10ENGLISH• The supplied remote control unit (RC-933) is for use with the UD-M31 unit only.• If the cassette deck (DRR-M31) and MD recorder (DMD-M31) of the D-M31 series are connected to the main unit, youmay operate each of the above components using its respective remote control unit (refer to page 10,11).7 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT(1) Inserting the batteriesq Open the battery compartment cover of the remotecontrol unit.Press the knob and open the cover in the direction ofthe arrow.w Insert the two R03 (AAA) batteries, following the + and– marks in the battery compartment.e Close the cover of the battery compartment.Cautions on Batteries• Use R03 (AAA) batteries in this remote control unit.• Replace the batteries with new ones afterapproximately 1 year, though this depends on thefrequency with which the remote control unit isused.• Replace the batteries with new ones if the unit doesnot operate when the remote control unit isoperated from nearby, even if the batteries are lessthan a year old.• Be sure to insert the batteries in the properdirection, following the “ < ” and “ > ” marks inthe battery compartment.• To avoid damage or leakage of battery fluid:• Do not use a new battery with an old one.• Do not use two different types of batteries.• Do not short-circuit, take apart, heat or dispose ofbatteries in flames.• Remove the batteries when you do not plan to usethe remote control unit for an extended period oftime.• If the battery fluid should leak, carefully wipe off thefluid from the inside of the battery compartment,then insert new batteries.(2) Using the Remote Control Unit• The remote sensor is located on the CD receiver. Pointthe remote control unit at the remote sensor as shownon the diagram when operating it.• The remote control unit will operate from a directdistance of approximately 7 meters, but this distancewill be shortened if obstacles are present or if operatedat an angle. (The remote control unit will operate at anangle of up to 30° in either direction.)7m30°30°BBNOTES:• The remote control unit may not operate if theremote sensor is exposed to direct sunlight or thestrong light from a lighting fixture, or if there is anobstacle between the remote control unit and theremote sensor.• Do not press buttons on the remote control unit andon the set at the same time. Doing so could resultin malfunctions.• If the remote control unit is pointed away from there-mote sensor during continuous operations (suchas when turning the volume up or down), theoperation will stop. Press this buttonwhen the time service of an RDSstation is being properly received. “CT”and “TIME” are displayed for 2seconds and the UD-M31’s clock iscorrected. “NO CT” is displayed if theRDS station does not offer a timeservice and when the broadcast is notbeing received properly.PANEL button• Press this button when receivingRDS stations to select thefrequency, PS, PTY or RT display.• Note that this button will notfunction if the reception is poor.• The display mode changes as followseach time the button is pressed.• If a station name is not available,Station name mode will beomitted from the sequence.TUNER function (RDS) buttonsRDS PTY TPOFF• Press this button to set thefunction TUNER mode.TUNER button• Press this button to play or pauseof the CD player.CD 1/ 3 (play/pause) buttonRANDOM button• Press this button to set the tracksin random order.REPEAT button• Press this button for repeatplayback.PROG/DIRECT button• Press this button to switchbetween PROGRAM and DIRECTplay.CALL button• Use this button to confirm theprogrammed song.CD function buttonsNumber buttons• Press these buttons to recallpreset stationCLEAR button• Press this button to erase thestation name.TUNER function buttonsVolume level ClockFunctionPTYFrequencyStation name/PSRTStation name/PSFrequency |
