8 Making connectionsDX-19LD150A11Connecting powerTo connect the power:• Connect the AC power cord to the AC connector onthe back of your TV/DVD combo, then plug the otherend into a power outlet.Connecting a cable or satellite boxMany cable or satellite TV boxes have more than oneconnection type. To get the best video, you should usethe best connection type available. For more information,see “What connection should I use?” on page 7.Using an HDMI cable (best)To connect a cable or satellite box using HDMI:1 Turn off your TV/DVD combo and all connectedequipment.2 Connect the incoming cable from the cable wall jackto the cable-in jack on the cable or satellite box.3 Connect an HDMI cable (not provided) to one of theHDMI jacks on the back of your TV/DVD combo andto the HDMI OUT jack on the cable or satellite box.4 Turn on your TV/DVD combo, then turn on the cableor satellite box.5 Go through the setup wizard described on page 16.6 To watch TV, press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCElist, then press INPUT repeatedly, or press or toselect HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, then press ENTER/ .Using DVI (same as HDMI but requires an audioconnection)To connect a cable or satellite box using DVI:1 Turn off your TV/DVD combo and all connectedequipment.2 Connect the incoming cable from the cable wall jackto the cable-in jack on the cable or satellite box.3 Connect an HDMI-DVI adapter (not provided) to oneend of an HDMI cable (not provided), then connect itto the DVI OUT jack on the cable or satellite box.4 Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to theHDMI1 jack on the back of your TV/DVD combo.5 Connect a 3.5 mm audio cable (not provided) to thePC/DVI AUDIO IN jack on the back of your TV/DVDcombo and to the AUDIO OUT jacks on the cable orsatellite box.6 Turn on your TV/DVD combo, then turn on the cableor satellite box.7 Go through the setup wizard described on page 16.8 To watch TV, press INPUT to open the INPUT SOURCElist, then press INPUT repeatedly, or press or toselect HDMI 1, then press ENTER/ .Notes• Your TV/DVD combo should only be operatedfrom the power source indicated on the label.• Always unplug the AC power cord from thepower outlet when you will not be using yourTV/DVD combo for an extended period of time.NotesAn HDMI cable carries both audio and video.
