Understanding the basics 17DX-19LD150A11Understanding the basicsTurning your TV/DVD combo on or offTo turn your TV/DVD combo on or off:1 Make sure that the power cord is connected to apower outlet.2 Press (Power) to turn on your TV/DVD combo.3 Press (Power) again to turn off your TV/DVDcombo. Your TV/DVD combo enters Standby modeand the power indicator LED turns red.Selecting the video input sourceTo select the video input source:1 Turn on your TV/DVD combo, then press INPUT. TheINPUT SOURCE list opens.2 Press INPUT repeatedly, or press or to select thevideo input source. Wait a few seconds for theTV/DVD combo to switch to your selection, or pressENTER/ to switch immediately.Using the DVD playerYour TV/DVD combo’s built-in DVD player plays DVDswith the or playable region number marks. DVDswith other region markings are not playable. See page 41for a list of compatible disc formats.To start disc playback:1 Press (Power) to turn on the TV/DVD combo.2 Insert a DVD into the disc slot with the label facingforward. The DVD player reads the DVD and displaysthe opening screen.The TV/DVD combo automatically switches to DVDmode. The “Loading” message appears for a fewseconds.If you loaded an audio CD, the file browser screenappears and music playback automatically starts. Ifyou loaded a video CD or DVD and that disc has aroot menu, this root menu is displayed. Press , ,, or to navigate the menu options. If there is noroot menu, video playback automatically starts.Playback controls• Press VOL+/VOL– to adjust playback volume.• Press (Play/Pause) to temporarily suspend discplayback (still mode). Press it again to continueplayback.• Playback navigation controls:• Press (Skip back) to play the previous title ortrack.• Press (Fast reverse) to play in fast reversedirection.• Press (Fast forward) to play in fast forwarddirection.• Press (Skip forward) to play the next title ortrack.• Press A-B to create a playback loop.• During playback, press A-B at the point whereyou would like the playback loop to begin. Thissets an “A” point.• Press A-B again when the playback reaches thepoint where you would like the playback loop tostop. The sets a “B” point. The section betweenpoints A and B will be played repeatedly in a loopuntil you press A-B again.• Press (Stop) to stop playback.To remove the disc:1 Press (Eject) to unload the disc.2 Wait for the disc to be ejected, then remove the discfrom the slot.WarningKeep your fingers clear of the disc slot when loadingor unloading a disc. Neglecting to do so may causeserious personal injury.
