Therelays are energized when power isavailable and the switch is currentlyconnected to the source. The contacts arewired to terminal blocks beginning withnumber 501. See the schematic shippedwith the unit for more detail.Optional Feature 15 – Auxiliary ContactsAuxiliary switches mounted inside thebreakers follow the breaker position,regardless of power availability. The form Ccontacts are wired to terminal blocksbeginning with number 401. See theschematic shipped with the unit for moredetail.Optional Feature 16 - IntegralOvercurrent ProtectionProvides ovecurrent protection integral tothe power switching device. The use of thisoption can, in many cases, eliminate theneed for separate upstream,overcurrent/short-circuit protection. Forsafety purposes, this option includes a lock-out function that prevents further automatictransfer operation until the appropriatesource is manually reset. The MP1controller will also read ***LOCKOUT*** onthe display. See the front of the switchmechanism for instructions. (Note: Fourpole transfer switches include overcurrentprotection only on the three power poles)Optional Feature 18 – Metering andCommunicationsAnalog meters or Cutler-Hammer IQmetering devices can be installed to providevarious metering functions. Refer to theappropriate instruction manuals that shipwith the transfer switch for additionalinformation.Optional Feature 24 – Battery ChargerA 5A trickle charger with DC output of 12Vor 24V is mounted either inside the switchenclosure or supplied loose and externallymounted. Refer to the specific instructionmanuals that ship with the transfer switch foradditional information.Optional Feature 30 – Cranking LimiterAn externally mounted timing relay,adjustable from 0-120 sec. The relay willinterrupt the engine start circuit if voltagedoes not appear on the emergency sourcewithin the pre-selected time. When settingthe time delay, make certain the TDES andthe warm-up time of the genset is taken intoaccount.
