EATON HFX Product Family Installation and Operation Manual E-ELCL-II002-E2 July 201924HFX Product Family15.0 CONFIGURATION15.1 System ConfigurationThe controller features an advanced view into thehardware through the System Config I/O Mappingtab. There are numerous predefined variablesassociated with the controller that are accessible viathe application program. This dramatically simplifiesprogramming. All of these variables are pre-mappedwith a relevant name linked with their respectivechannel. This name can be changed by the userif desirable. Each variable also has an associatedaddress, type, and description all intended to helpthe programmer. The System Config I/O Mappingis organized into folders of related variables e.g.the System State folder contains information suchas Supply Voltage, Regulator Voltage, Ignition PinVoltage, Sleep Pin Voltage, User LED State, USBConnected, etc. The other folders consist of SystemInformation e.g. Firmware Rev, Serial Number, HourMeter, etc.; Internal Relay status; Global Fault Statusfor both active and historic faults; and a Fault Monitorfor managing faults (see below image). The above variables can be monitored in the application program to alter controller response. For example, if thebattery voltage falls below a predefined limit, or the temperature exceeds a limit, the programmer can choose toinitiate a shutdown. Some variables can also be manipulated in the application control program. For instance, the userLED can be used to impart additional information to the user and the internal relay current can be monitored, and if itexceeds a predetermined limit, forced off.Note: The variable radio button “Always update variables” (located in the lower right corner of the above picture) should be checked. If this isdeselected, only variables used by the IEC application will be updated.
