Do not use anysharp items to remove the film. Remove allof the film before using the appliancefor the first time.To ensure no damage is done to the finishof the product, the safest way to removethe adhesive from packaging tape on newappliances is an application of a householdliquid dishwashing detergent. Apply with a softcloth and allow to soak.NOTE: The adhesive must be removed from allparts. It cannot be removed if it is baked on.Control KnobsThe control knobs may be removed for easiercleaning.Make sure the knobs are in the OFF positionsand pull them straight off the stems forcleaning.The knobs can be cleaned in a dishwasher orthey may also be washed with soap and water.Make sure the inside of the knobs are drybefore replacing.Replace the knobs, in the OFF position toensure proper placement.Porcelain Enamel Cooktop (on some models)The porcelain enamel finish is sturdybut breakable if misused. This finish isacid-resistant. However, any acidic foodsspilled (such as fruit juices, tomato orvinegar) should not be permitted toremain on the finish.If acids spill on the cooktop while it is hot,use a dry paper towel or cloth to wipe it upright away. When the surface has cooled,wash with soap and water. Rinse well.For other spills such as fat spatterings,wash with soap and water or cleansingpowders after the surface has cooled.Rinse well.
