6For models with a glass cooktop.Never cook directly on the glass.Always use cookware.About the radiant surface unitsThe radiant cooktop features heating unitsbeneath a smooth glass surface.Cooktop temperatures increase withthe number of surface units that areon. With 3 or 4 units turned on, surfacetemperatures are high. Always use cautionwhen touching the cooktop.An indicator light will come on when thesurface unit is turned on.The appropriate HOT SURFACE indicatorlight will glow when its correspondingradiant element is turned on and willremain on until the surface has cooledbelow 65.6°C (150°F).NOTE:Hot surface indicator light will:Stay on even after the unit is turned off.Glow brightly until the unit has cooledbelow 65.6°C (150°F).NOTE: A slight odor is normal when a newcooktop is used for the first time. It is causedby the heating of new parts and insulatingmaterials and will disappear in a short time.NOTE: On models with light-colored glasscooktops, it is normal for the cooking zonesto change color when hot or cooling down.This is temporary and will disappear asthe glass cools to room temperature.It is safe to place hot cookware from theoven or surface on the glass cooktop whenthe surface is cool.Even after the surface units are turned off,the glass cooktop retains enough heat tocontinue cooking. To avoid overcooking,remove pans from the surface units whenthe food is cooked. Avoid placing anythingon the surface unit until it has cooledcompletely.Water stains (mineral deposits) areremovable using the cleaning cream orfull strength white vinegar.Use of window cleaner may leave aniridescent film on the cooktop. Thecleaning cream will remove thisdiscoloration.Don’t store heavy items above thecooktop. If they drop onto the cooktop,they can cause damage.Do not use the surface as a cutting board.Always place the pan in the centerof the surface unit you are cooking on.Do not slide cookware across thecontrol or cooktop surface becauseit can scratch the glass.
