Power OutageCAUTION:Do not make anyattempt to operate the electric ignition oven duringan electrical power failure. The oven or broiler cannot be lit duringa power failure. Gas will not flow unlessthe glow bar is hot.If the oven is in use when a powerfailure occurs, the oven burner shutsoff and cannot be re-lit until power isrestored. This is because the flow of gas isautomatically stopped and will not resumewhen power is restored until the glow barhas reached operating temperature.Oven VentYour oven is vented through one ventlocated toward the rear of the range. Donot block this vent when cooking in theoven—it is important that the flow of hotair from the oven and fresh air to theoven burner be uninterrupted. Avoidtouching the vent openings or nearbysurfaces during oven or broiler operation—they may become hot.■ Handles of pots and pans on the cooktop maybecome hot if left too close to the vent.■ Do not leave plastic items on the cooktop—they may melt if left too close to the vent.■ Do not leave any items on the cooktop. The hotair from the vent may ignite flammable itemsand will increase pressure in closed containers, which may cause them to burst.■ Metal items will become very hot if they areleft on the cooktop, and could cause burns.14Consumer Support Troubleshooting Tips Care and Cleaning Operating Instructions Safety InstructionsUsing the oven.
