The Altitude Reference, shown in the G3XAutopilot Status Box, is independent of the Selected Altitude, displayedabove the Altimeter. Altitude Hold Mode active is indicated by a green ‘ALT’annunciation in the G3X Autopilot Status Box.Altitude Hold Mode is automatically armed when in Selected AltitudeCapture Mode. Selected Altitude Capture Mode automatically transitions toAltitude Hold Mode when within 50 feet of the Selected Altitude. In this case, the Selected Altitude becomes the Altitude Reference.CHANGING THE ALTITUDE REFERENCEWhen operating in Altitude Hold Mode, the Altitude Reference can beadjusted in the following ways:• The Altitude Reference can be adjusted up or down in 10-footincrements by pressing the FMS Joystick up or down. Using thismethod, up to 200 feet of altitude change can be commanded. Tochange the Altitude Reference by more the 200 feet, use the CWSbutton (if equipped) as described below, or climb/descend usinganother vertical mode (PIT, VS) to capture the desired SelectedAltitude.• If the aircraft is equipped with a CWS Button, pressing the CWS Buttonallows the aircraft to be hand-flown to a new Altitude Reference. When the CWS Button is released at the desired altitude, the newaltitude is established as the Altitude Reference.NOTE: While operating in Altitude Hold Mode, using the FMS Joystick tochange the Selected Altitude does NOT affect the autopilot (i.e., does notchange the Altitude Reference, and does not cancel the mode).
