Glidepath Mode is used to track theWAAS-based glidepath only. When Glidepath Mode is armed, ‘GP’ is annunciated inwhite in the G3X Autopilot Status Box.Selecting Glidepath Mode:1) Ensure a GPS approach with vertical guidance (LPV, LNAV/VNAV, LNAV+V)is loaded into the active flight plan.2) Ensure that GPS is the selected navigation source (use the CDI SRC Softkeyto cycle through external navigation sources if necessary).3) Press the ALT/PTCH Softkey to access the autopilot pitch modes and pressthe AP APPR Softkey (only available when an external GPS navigationsource (i.e., GTN or GNS Series) is configured).NOTE: Some RNAV (GPS) approaches provide a vertical descent angle as anaid in flying a stabilized approach. These approaches are NOT consideredApproaches with Vertical Guidance (APV). Approaches that are annunciatedon the HSI as LNAV or LNAV+V are considered Nonprecision Approaches (NPA)and are flown to an MDA even though vertical glidepath (GP) informationmay be provided.WARNING: When flying an LNAV approach (with vertical descent angle) withthe Integrated Autopilot coupled, the aircraft will not level off at the MDAeven if the MDA is set in the altitude preselect. The baro minimums featurecan still be used as a reminder to check altitude when approaching the MDA.
