Whenever the Selected Altitude is changed, theAltitude Alerter is reset. The following will occur when approaching the SelectedAltitude:• Passing within 1000 feet of the Selected Altitude, the Selected Altitude (shownabove the Altimeter) flashes for 5 seconds and an aural tone is generated.• When the aircraft passes within 200 ft of the Selected Altitude, the SelectedAltitude flashes for 5 seconds and an aural tone is generated to indicate that theaircraft is approaching the selected altitude.• After reaching the Selected Altitude, if the pilot flies outside the deviation band(±200 Feet of the Selected Altitude), the Selected Altitude changes to yellow texton a black background, flashes for 5 seconds, and an aural tone is generated.Altitude Alerting Visual AnnunciationDeviation of ±200 ftTurning the altitude alert tone on/off:1) Press the MENU Key twice to display the Main Menu.2) Turn or move the FMS Joystick to highlight ‘System Setup...’ and press theENT Key.3) Turn or move the FMS Joystick to highlight ‘Sound’, and press the ENT Key.4) Move the FMS Joystick to highlight the Altitude Alert field, and select ‘On/Off’ by turning the FMS Joystick.
