1 - 5Proper Disposal of the Charge PackWhen the charge pack has reached the end of its useful life,the charge packs should be disposed of by a qualified recycleror hazardous materials handler. Do not incinerate the chargepack or dispose of the charge pack with general wastematerials. Contact the Product Service Department (see page11-1) for recycling or disposal information.Charging Your Charge Pack(CLESS/NIMH/S)Charge the charge pack by following the steps below:1. Detach the charge pack from the bottom of the scanner. (See figure below)2. Fully charge the charge pack. Plug thecharge pack directly into any common120 V AC outlet in North America. Ifoutside North America, use the customcharge strip or adaptor.3. The LED on the bottom of the chargepack blinks red temporarily as part ofthe charge initialization sequence.After initialization, the LED remainssolid red while the charge pack ischarging. The LED shows green whenthe charge pack is fully charged andready to use.Recharge Time: 6 hours at any voltage at20°C (68°F).4. After the charge pack is fully charged, attach it to the cordless scanner bypressing the pack firmly (align the prongs on the pack with the mating recep-tacles) in the base of the scanner until the release buttons click, holding thepack firmly in place. (When you attach a charged charge pack to the cord-less scanner, you will hear a single beep.)5. If you have not set up your Cordless System, turn to “Setting Up and Con-necting the Cordless System” on page 1-8 for instructions.6. If the scanner wasn’t previously associated to the base, scan the associationbar code on the top of the base. If the scanner was previously associated toa base, it will automatically re-associate.
