Setup Harman Consumer Group, Inc.3-10SPEAKERS MENUSelecting the MANUAL SETUP menu, SPEAKERS option opens theSPEAKERS menu, which assigns independent crossover points foreach Main Zone audio output connector. Front crossover selectionsaffect the Sub Mode parameter options.Manual Speaker Setup Considerations:• Select the crossover point closest to the –3dB low-frequencyrating of the associated speakers. For example, set the FRONTL/R parameter to the crossover point closest to the –3dBlow-frequency rating of the front speakers.• Select the subwoofer crossover point equal to the lowestcrossover point of any of the other speakers.Manual Subwoofer Speaker Setup Considerations:All low frequencies below the speaker’s crossover point are redirectedfrom the speaker to the subwoofer(s). If the crossover point is FULL,low-frequency signals, excluding LFE information, are not redirectedto the subwoofer.Low frequencies between the Subwoofer and Front L/R speakerchannels can be duplicated. However, making this selection canresult in excessive bass. Refer to the “Sub Mode” description foundlater in this chapter for more information.Note: The Semi Autocal and Full Autocal procedures leave the Subwooferdistance value at a default of 0.0 feet. Refer to the “Speaker Distances”section found later in this chapter to manually set the correct speakerdistance for the subwoofers.FRONT L/R FULL, 40 to 120HZAllows the manual selection of a crossover point for the Main Zoneaudio output connectors labeled Front L/R. Available selectionsinclude FULL, 120Hz, 100Hz and 80Hz to 40Hz in 10Hz increments.Select FULL to send a full-range signal to the front speakers.Otherwise, select the crossover point closest to the –3dBlow-frequency rating of the front speakers.CENTER FULL, 40 to 120HZ, NONEAllows the manual selection of a crossover point for the Main Zoneaudio output connector labeled Center. Available selections includeNONE, FULL, 120Hz, 100Hz and 80Hz to 40Hz in 10Hz increments.• Select FULL to send a full-range signal to the center speaker.Otherwise, select the crossover point closest to the –3dBlow-frequency rating of the center speaker.• When the speaker setup does not include a center speaker, selectNONE because some listening modes are not intended to be usedwithout a center channel.SIDE L/R FULL, 40 to 120Hz, NONEAllows the manual selection of a crossover point for the Main Zoneaudio output connectors labeled Side L/R. Available selectionsinclude NONE, FULL, 120Hz, 100Hz and 80Hz to 40Hz in 10Hzincrements.• Select FULL to send a full-range signal to the Side L/R speakers.Otherwise, select the crossover point closest to the –3dBlow-frequency rating of the Side L/R speakers.• When the speaker setup does not include side speakers, selectNONE to redirect side channel signals to the Front L/R outputconnectors.
