31. Read Instructions. All the safety and operatinginstructions should be read before the product is operated.2. Retain Instructions. The safety and operatinginstructions should be retained for future reference.3. Heed Warnings. All warnings on the product and inthe operating instructions should be adhered to.4. Follow Instructions. All operating and use instruc-tions should be followed.5. Cleaning. Unplug this product from the wall outletbefore cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosolcleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.6. Attachments. Do not use attachments notrecommended by the product manufacturer, as they maycause hazards.7. Water and Moisture. Do not use this product nearwater – for example, near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchensink or laundry tub; in a wet basement; near a swimmingpool; or the like.8. Accessories. Do not place this product on an unsta-ble cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product mayfall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and seriousdamage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod,bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer, or soldwith the product. Any mounting of the product should followthe manufacturer’s instructions, and should use a mountingaccessory recommended by the manufacturer.9. A Product and Cart Combination Should BeMoved with Care. Quick stops, excessive force anduneven surfaces may cause the product and cartcombination to overturn.10. Ventilation. Slots and openings in the cabinet areprovided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operationof the product and to protect it from overheating, andthese openings must not be blockedor covered. The openings shouldnever be blocked by placing theproduct on a bed, sofa, rug orother similar surface. This prod-uct should not be placed in a built-in installation, such asa bookcase or rack, unless proper ventilation is providedor the manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.11. Power Sources. This product should be operatedonly from the type of power source indicated on themarking label. If you are not sure of the type of powersupply to your home, consult your product dealer or localpower company. For products intended to operate frombattery power, or other sources, refer to the operatinginstructions.12. Polarization. This product may be equipped with apolarized alternating-current-line plug (a plug having oneblade wider than the other). This plug will fit into thepower outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If youare unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, tryreversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, con-tact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Donot defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.13. Power-Cord Protection. Power-supply cords shouldbe routed so that they are not likely to be walked on orpinched by items placed upon or against them, paying par-ticular attention to cords at plugs, convenience recepta-cles, and the point where they exit from the product.14. Nonuse Periods. The power cord of the productshould be unplugged from the outlet when left unused forlong periods of time.15. Outdoor Antenna Grounding. If an outsideantenna or cable system is connected to the product, besure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as toprovide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National ElectricalCode, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard toproper grounding of the mast and supporting structure,grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna dischargeunit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, andrequirements for the grounding electrode. See Figure A.16. Lightning. For added protection for this productduring a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended andunused for long periods of time, unplug it from the walloutlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. Thiswill prevent damage to the product due to lightning andpower-line surges.17. Power Lines. An outside antenna system shouldnot be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines orother electric light or power circuits, or where it can fallinto such power lines or circuits. When installing an out-side antenna system, extreme care should be taken tokeep from touching such power lines or circuits, as con-tact with them might be fatal.18. Overloading. Do not overload wall outlets, exten-sion cords, or integral convenience receptacles, as thiscan result in a risk of fire or electric shock.19. Object and Liquid Entry. Never push objects ofany kind into this product through openings, as they maytouch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts thatcould result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid ofany kind on the product.20. Servicing. Do not attempt to service this productyourself, as opening or removing covers may expose youto dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicingto qualified service personnel.21. Damage Requiring Service. Unplug this productfrom the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified serv-ice personnel under the following conditions:a. The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged;orb. Objects have fallen onto, or liquid has been spilledinto, the product; orc. The product has been exposed to rain or water; ord. The product does not operate normally when follow-ing the operating instructions. Adjust only those controlsthat are covered by the operating instructions, as animproper adjustment of other controls may result in dam-age and will often require extensive work by a qualifiedtechnician to restore the product to its normal operation;ore. The product has been dropped or damaged in anyway; orf. The product exhibits a distinct change in performance;this indicates a need for service.22. Replacement Parts. When replacement parts arerequired, be sure the service technician has used replace-ment parts specified by the manufacturer or that have thesame characteristics as the original part. Unauthorizedsubstitutions may result in fire, electric shock or otherhazards.23. Safety Check. Upon completion of any service orrepairs to this product, ask the service technician to per-form safety checks to determine that the product is inproper operating condition.24. Wall or Ceiling Mounting. The product should bemounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by themanufacturer.25. Heat.
