Some DVD-Audiodiscs that contain linear PCM or Dolby Digital5.1 audio tracks may allow you to access thesetracks using the Audio feature described in thissection. In normal play, the unit will always lookfor the default setting for the audio track, butyou may change the audio track at any timeusing the Menu Status Bar and following thesesteps:1. During disc playback, press the StatusButton e.2. Press the ‹/› Buttons ` until thespeaker icon (third from the left) is highlightedin white between yellow brackets.3. Press the Enter Button .4. In thiscase, use the ‹/›/⁄/¤ Buttons y`to make the selection from the menuscreen and then press the Enter Button .The functionality of the Audio Button t mayvary from disc to disc. Many discs will allow youto change the playback language while the discis playing, as noted earlier. However, when theAudio Button t is pressed with some discs,playback will stop and you will be taken to thedisc’s own audio menu. At that menu, use the‹/›/⁄/¤ Buttons y` to high-light the desired playback language. Press theEnter Button when the choice is madeand the disc will either resume playback ortake you to the disc’s main menu. Note thatthese functions are controlled by informationprogrammed within the disc, and are outsideof the control of the DVD600II.DVD discs may contain a variety of subtitles. Note, however, that some discs donot allow audio track change while the disc isplaying. When the Subtitle Button ispressed, the player will go to the disc’s ownmenu page for subtitle disc selection. In thiscase, use the ‹/›/⁄/¤ Buttons y`to make the selection from the menuscreen and then press the Enter Button .IMPORTANT NOTE: The steps indicated onthe page allow you to change the subtitle lan-guage, but they do not determine whether thesubtitles are actually displayed on the screen.To have the subtitles appear at any time, pressthe Subtitle On/Off Button to toggle thesubtitles on or off with each press of the button.When the subtitles are active, a check-markicon “✔” will appear in the box to the right ofthe subtitle description as shown earlier.Also note that some DVD discs do not containsubtitles. When the Subtitle On/Off Buttonis pressed on a disc with no subtitles, theProhibit icon “” will appear on screen.Changing Camera AnglesA special feature of the DVD format is its capa-bility of showing more than one view, or cameraangle, of the same scene. This feature enablesyou to become the director, selecting the viewof a scene that you wish. Note, however, thatthis feature does not appear on many discs and,when it does appear, it will typically be for onlycertain scenes and not for the entire disc’s pro-gram. If you attempt to use the multiple-anglefeature on a disc that is not programmed for it,you may see the “Prohibited Feature” icon “”on the screen. This is not a fault of the player; itsimply indicates that the feature is not availableon the disc being played.To see whether a disc contains multiple angles,check the disc’s cover or jacket. When a discdoes contain scenes with multiple angles, the pro-ducers will usually include some sort of specialon-screen icon to alert you to the availability ofdifferent angles of view.
