When a number is input instop mode, playback the first chapter or track inthe group or title having the same number as theinput number starts.÷ With a CD or VCD (when P.B.C. is off), playbackstarts with the beginning of the track having thesame number as the input number.÷ With a MP3 file, playback starts with the beginningof the file having the same number as the inputnumber.3-14 Still picture display and playbackpausePress the 8 button during playback.÷ This operation is not available with a MP3 disc.(DV-5900M only)÷ The TV screen shows "Pause" or "Still" and the 8indicator in the display lights up.÷ To restart normal playback, press the 3 button onthe player.÷ When the "IPB Display" is set to On, the TV screenshows "Still (I)", "Still (P)" or "Still (B)" withevery still picture. f3-13 Stopping playbackPress the 7 button during playback. The first pressactivates the resume function and the second pressstops playback.÷ With certain DVDs, the inhibition icon is displayedand playback cannot be stopped even when the 7button is pressed. In this case, turn the DISC knobto select another disc then press the 7 button tostop playback.If there is only one disc in the stocker, open thedisc door, place another disc, close the disc door,turn the DISC knob to select the second disc, thenpress the 7 button to stop playback.÷ When you are operating the remote, press the 7button.÷ The resume function stores the position whereplayback is stopped in memory. Later, playbackcan be restarted from that position by pressing the3 button.÷ While the resume function is activated, the "3"indicator in the display blinks and shows the timeof the stored position.÷ The resume function cannot be activated duringrandom playback, MUSIC TYPE PLAY mode andUSER FILE PLAY mode.3-12 Skipping a track, chapter or filePress the 4 or ¢ button on the player.÷ A track is skipped and playback starts from thebeginning of the skip destination track, chapter orfile.÷ When the 4 button is pressed once during playback,playback restarts from the beginning of the current track,chapter or file.÷ With a VCD and P.B.C. is on, these buttons functionas the 4 (Previous) and ¢ (Next) button.3-15 Frame-by-frame advanceWhile a still picture of DVD or VCD is displayed, pressthe 8 button .÷ The picture returns to still picture when the 8button is released.÷ The picture frame is advanced for the same numberof times as the button is pressed. Hold the buttonwhen you want to advance picture framessequentially.÷ To restart normal playback, press the 3 button onthe player.÷ When the "IPB Display" is set to On, the TV screenshows "Still (I)", "Still (P)" or "Still (B)" everytime the picture frame is advanced. f
