8-4 TroubleshootingSTATUS LEDThe STATUS LED stays lit in green when the server is in successful operation. When the STATUSLED is unlit, flashing in green or lit/flashing in amber, it indicates that the server has failed.The following table lists indications of the STATUS LED, descriptions, and actions to take.NOTES: If NEC ESMPRO is installed, you can confirm the cause of a failureby referring to the error log. To cycle power to the server, shut down the server from the OS andreboot it, if available. If the shutdown from the OS is not available,reset or execute the forced shut down or disconnect and connect thepower cord to reboot the server.STATUS LEDindication Description ActionFlashing ingreenThe server is inoperation with itsprocessor degraded.Contact your service representative.Start the BIOS SETUP and select [Main] - [ProcessorSettings] to identify the degraded processor andreplace it as soon as possible.Or, start the BIOS SETUP and select [Main] -[Processor Settings] - [Processor Retest] - [Yes], andthen select [Exit] - [Exit Saving Changes] to solve theproblem.The server is inoperation with itsmemory degraded.Contact your service representative.Start the BIOS SETUP and select [Advanced] -[Memory Configuration] to identify the degradedmemory (DIMM) and replace it as soon as possible.Or, start the BIOS SETUP and select [Advanced] -[Memory Configuration] - [Memory Retest] - [Yes], andthen select [Exit] - [Exit Saving Changes] to solve theproblem.A correctable memoryor bus error wasdetected.The system can continue operation if the status LEDflashes green.
