138 The i Menu❚❚ The Self-TimerIn self-timer mode, pressing the shutter-release button starts atimer, and a photo is taken when the timer expires.1 Select Release mode in the i menu,highlight Self-timer, and press 3.2 Choose the self-timer release delayand number of shots.Press J when settings complete.3 Frame the photograph and focus.In release-priority focus modes,including AF-S, the timer will not startunless the camera is able to focus.4 Start the timer.Press the shutter-release button allthe way down to start the timer. A Eicon will appear in the display and theself-timer lamp will start to flash,stopping two seconds before thephotograph is taken.D Taking Multiple ShotsUse Custom Setting c2 (Self-timer) to choose the number of shotstaken, and the interval between the shots taken, when the self-timerfinishes counting down.
