Battery installation & chargingBefore you can use your new phone, you need to attach andcharge the battery.Attaching the batteryTo attach the battery, place iton the back of the phone asshown and slide it toward thetop of the phone until it clicksinto place.Battery chargingYour phone is powered by a rechargeable NiMH or Li-Ionbattery. Note that a new NiMH battery’s full performance isachieved only after two or three complete charge anddischarge cycles. For charging times, see ‘Charging times’ onpage 58.How to charge your batteryConnect the lead from the charger to the bottom of yourphone or to a charging stand. Then plug the charger into astandard wall outlet.When the battery is charging, the battery strength indicatoron the right side of the display scrolls.Note: When you charge the battery for the first time, thebattery strength indicator will not scroll the entire time; thisis normal.
