Push theback cover up to the top of thephone to lock it (2).■ Charge the batteryWarning: Use onlybatteries, chargers, andenhancements approved byNokia for use with thisparticular model. The use ofany other types mayinvalidate any approval orwarranty, and may bedangerous.Check the model number of anycharger before use with this device.This device is intended for use whensupplied with power from ACP-7 andACP-12 chargers.For availability of approvedenhancements, please check withyour dealer. When you disconnectthe power cord of any enhancement,grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.1. Connect the charger to a wallsocket.2. Connect the lead from thecharger to the socket on thebottom of your phone.If the battery is completelydischarged, it may take a fewminutes before the chargingindicator appears on the display orbefore any calls can be made.The charging time depends on thecharger and the battery used. Forexample, charging a battery with theACP-12 charger takes approximately1 hour and 20 minutes while thephone is in the standby mode.■ Switch the phone onand offWarning: Do not switch thephone on when wirelessphone use is prohibited orwhen it may causeinterference or danger.Press the power key.If the phone asks for a PIN or a UPINcode, enter the code (displayed as****), and select OK.
