The icons and texts onthe display may vary, depending on theinstant messaging service.Depending on the network, the activeinstant messaging conversation mayconsume the phone battery faster, andyou may need to connect the phone toa charger.Access the IM menuTo access the menu while still offline,select Menu > Messaging > Instantmessages. If more than one set ofconnection settings for the instantmessaging service is available, selectthe desired one. If there is only one setdefined, it is selected automatically.The following options are shown:Login — to connect to the instantmessaging serviceSaved convers. — to view, erase, orrename the instant messagingconversations that you have savedduring the instant messaging sessionConnect. settings — to edit the settingsneeded for messaging and presenceconnectionConnect to the IM serviceTo connect to the instant messagingservice, open the Instant messagesmenu, activate an instant messagingservice, and select Login. When thephone has successfully connected,Logged in is displayed.To disconnect from the instantmessaging service, select Logout.Start an IM sessionOpen the Instant messages menu,and connect to the service. Start theservice in different ways.• Select Conversations to view thelist of new and read instantmessages or invitations for instantmessaging during the activeinstant messaging session.
