MessagingSelect Menu > Communic. > Messaging.In Messaging (network service), you can send andreceive text messages, multimedia messages, audiomessages, and e-mail messages. You can also receiveweb service messages, cell broadcast messages, andspecial messages containing data, and send servicecommands.Before sending or receiving messages, you may needto do the following:• Insert a valid SIM card in the device and be locatedin the service area of a cellular network.• Verify that the network supports the messagingfeatures you want to use and that they are activatedon your SIM card.• Define the internet access point settings on thedevice.• Define the e-mail account settings on the device.• Define the text message settings on the device.• Define the multimedia message settings on thedevice.The device may recognise the SIM card provider andautomatically configure some of the message settings.If not, you may need to define the settings manually;or contact your service provider to configure thesettings.E-mail messagesSelect Menu > Communic. > Messaging >Mailbox.To receive and send e-mail, you must have a remotemailbox service. This service may be offered by aninternet service provider, a network service provider,or your company. Your device is compliant withinternet standards SMTP, IMAP4 (revision 1), and POP3,and with different vendor-specific e-mail solutions.Other e-mail providers may offer services with differentsettings or features than those described in this userguide. For more details, contact your service provideror e-mail service provider.You may be able to install the following e-mails to yourdevice:• Regular POP or IMAP e-mail. You need to connect tothe mailbox, and download the e-mails to yourdevice before you can read them.• Mail for Exchange. Mail for Exchange is usually usedfor accessing work e-mails.
