Messaging settingsThe settings may be preconfigured in your device,or you may receive them in a message. To entersettings manually, fill in all fields marked with Mustbe defined or an asterisk.Some or all message centres or access points maybe preset for your device by your service provider,and you may not be able to change, create, edit, orremove them.Text message settingsPress , and select Messaging > Options >Settings > Text message.Select from the following:● Message centres — View a list of all textmessage centres that have been defined.● Message centre in use — Select which messagecentre to use to deliver text messages.● Character encoding — To use characterconversion to another encoding system whenavailable, select Reduced support.● Receive report — Select whether the networksends delivery reports on your messages(network service).● Message validity — Select how long themessage centre resends your message if the firstattempt fails (network service). If the messagecannot be sent within the validity period, themessage is deleted from the message centre.● Message sent as — Contact your serviceprovider to learn if your message centre is ableto convert text messages into these otherformats.● Preferred connection — Select the connectionto use.● Reply via same centre — Select whether youwant the reply message to be sent using thesame text message centre number (networkservice).Multimedia message settingsPress , and select Messaging > Options >Settings > Multimedia message.Select from the following:● Image size — Define the size of the image in amultimedia message.● MMS creation mode — If you select Guided, thedevice informs you if you try to send a messagethat may not be supported by the recipient. If youselect Restricted, the device prevents you fromsending messages that may not be supported. Toinclude content in your messages withoutnotifications, select Free.● Access point in use — Select which access pointis used as the preferred connection.134 Messaging
