When selected, this mode operates as follows:• The switch continues to broadcast BootP requests, regardless of whether anin-band IP address is set from the console terminal.• If the switch receives a BootP reply that contains an in-band IP address, theswitch uses this new in-band IP address.• If the switch does not receive a BootP reply, the switch cannot be managedusing the in-band IP address set from the console terminal.If an IP address is not currently in use, these actions take effect immediately. If anIP address is currently in use, these actions take effect only after the switch is resetor power cycled.BootP DisabledAllows the switch to be managed only by using the IP address set from theconsole terminal. When selected, this mode operates as follows:• The switch does not broadcast BootP requests, regardless of whether an IPaddress is set from the console terminal.• The switch can be managed only by using the in-band switch IP address setfrom the console terminal.These actions take effect after the switch is reset or power cycled, even if an IPaddress is not currently in use.BootP or Last AddressAllows the switch to be managed even if a BootP server is not reachable. Whenselected, this mode operates as follows:• When the IP data is entered from the console terminal, the data becomes thein-band address of the switch and BootP requests are not broadcast. Theswitch can be managed using this in-band IP address.
