Just using a DHCP server to centrally manage IP addresses of the DHCPclients enables you to construct a network without IP address conflicts or othertroubles.DNS The acronym for Domain Name System. DNS allows for obtaining the IP addresscorresponding to a host name in network environments. This system enables auser to access other computers on the network by specifying host names in-stead of elusive and non-intuitive IP addresses.DNS Host Name The name of a device on the network.DPI (dpi) The acronym for Dots Per Inch. A unit of resolution used for printers and scan-ners. This indicates the number of dots used to represent an inch. The higher thisvalue, the higher the resolution.Driver Software that works as a bridge between a computer and a peripheral device.Dynamic authentica-tion (LDAP setting)An authentication method option used when connecting to a LDAP server froma multifunctional product.
