2qSending a Confidential Fax or Sub-address TransmissionFax machines are often placed in public placeswhere everyone can look through the receivedfaxes. To send confidential documents, use theconfidential fax feature. The receiving fax machinestores the message in a confidential mailbox (inmemory) and does not print it until a password isentered.Also, if the receiving fax machine is equipped witha sub-address function, you can enter a sub-address number, as a mailbox number enablingsub-address communication.Tip: To send a confidential fax, you mustknow in advance the mailbox the mes-sage should be sent to. Your machine beginssending the fax.Receiving Confidential FaxesIf you need to receive a fax that should not be seenby anyone else, have the person send the mes-sage as a confidential fax from another Oki DataFax-compatible unit, or from a fax machine of adifferent maker that is equipped with the sub-address transmission function.In order to do this, you must first set up a confiden-tial mailbox, as explained below. Then, give yourmailbox number to the person sending the mes-sage.An incoming confidential fax is stored in memoryuntil you enter your password.
