2qReplacing the Toner Cartridge(OKI P/N 52111701)The number of pages you can print with one tonercartridge varies depending on the type of docu-ments you usually receive or copy. A toner car-tridge will print about 1,875 pages/Letter size ofstandard business communications at a typicalprint coverage of 4% (equivalent of ITU-T No. 1 testchart). The first toner cartridge installed in a newimage drum unit will have a decreased yield be-cause the image drum unit itself has to be filled. If your machine displays REPLACE TONERCART., replace the toner cartridge with a new one. However, if the print density is high enough, youcan continue to use the toner cartridge withoutreplacing it until the print density becomes too low.If the print density becomes low even before yourmachine displays REPLACE TONER CART.,gently wipe the lens surface of the LED array(see Step 7).If the print density does not improve, replace thetoner cartridge. When your machine’s displayshows CHANGE DRUM, replace the image drumunit.Warning: Be careful when handling the tonercartridge. Do not let toner spill onyour clothing or other porous materi-als.
