If problem persists consult your local TVaerial installer.¾ Switch “Active Antenna” to “On” in the Setup menu if you areusing an indoor antenna. (> 73)[DVB-T] After DVB Auto Setup only some or noDVB channels are found.¾ Check to ensure your area is covered by DVB transmissions.¾ Check that the aerial and antenna cable are designed for DVB.If you live within 5-10 km of DVB transmission towers, acombined VHF/UHF aerial should be adequate. Outside thisarea, separate VHF and UHF aerials provide superior receptionperformance. Use a high qualityquad shielded coaxial cable fly lead between this unit andantenna wall socket to minimise impulse noise pickup. Ifproblem persists consult your local TV aerial installer or CATVprovider.¾ Adjust the aerial reception with “DVB Manual Tuning” in theSetup menu. (> 68)¾ Check “Signal Condition”. If “Signal Quality” or “Signal Strength”are displayed in red or constantly changing, check the aerial orthe connection. If problem persists consult your local TV aerialinstaller or CATV provider. (> 67, Auto Setup Restart)2 Press [3, 4] to select “Digital Cable (DVB-C) & AnalogueChannels” or “Digital Cable (DVB-C) Channels” and press[OK].3 Press [OPTION] in “DVB Auto Setup” screen.4 Press [3, 4] to select “---- ksym/s (User Def.)” and enterthe symbol rate with numbered buttons and then press [OK].5 Press [OK].Then go to step 5 on page 10 and complete the settings.Refer to your CATV provider about the symbol rateinformation.VIERA Link doesn’t work.¾ Check the HDMI cable connection. Check that “HDMI” isdisplayed on the front display when the power for the main unitis set to On.¾ Make sure that “VIERA Link” is set to “On”. (> 72)¾ Check the “HDAVI Control” settings on the connected device.¾ Some functions may not work if depending on the version of“HDAVI Control” of the connected equipment. This unit supports“HDAVI Control 5” functions.¾ If the connection for the equipment connected with HDMI waschanged, or if there was a power failure or the plug wasremoved from the household mains socket, “HDAVI Control”may not work.In this case, perform the following operations.1 When the HDMI cable is connected to all equipment with thepower on, turn the TV (VIERA) on again.2 Change the TV (VIERA) settings for the “HDAVI Control”function to off, and then set to on again. (For moreinformation, see the VIERA operating instructions.)3 Switch the VIERA input to HDMI connection with this unit,and after this unit’s screen is displayed check that “HDAVIControl” is working.The operation on this unit (music playback etc.)is interrupted.¾ The operation on this unit may be interrupted when you pressbuttons on the TV remote control that do not work for VIERALink functions.To return all the settings other than the main onesto the factory preset¾ Select “Yes” in “Shipping Condition” in the Setup menu. All thesettings except for language settings, Slideshow Settings, clocksettings, ratings levels and PINs (“Ratings” in Disc menu and“Child Lock” in Tuning menu), etc. return to the factory preset.The timer recording programmes are also cancelled. (> 74)¾ Select “Yes” in “Default Settings” in the Setup menu. All thesettings except for tuning settings, clock settings, languagesettings, disc language settings, remote control code, ratingslevels and PINs (“Ratings” in Disc menu and “Child Lock” inTuning menu), etc. return to the factory presets. The timerrecording programmes are also cancelled. (> 74)¾ Press and hold [X CH] and [CH W] on the main unit until theLanguage setting screen appears. All the settings except forclock settings, remote control code, ratings levels and PINs(“Ratings” in Disc menu and “Child Lock” in Tuning menu), etc.return to the factory preset. The timer recording programmesare also cancelled.To reset the ratings level settings¾ While the disc tray is open, press [DRIVE SELECT] to selectthe DVD drive, then press and hold [¥ REC] and [1] on themain unit at the same time for 5 or more seconds.To restore the unit if it freezes due to one of thesafety devices being activated¾ Press and hold [Í/I] on the main unit for 3 seconds. (Thesettings remain.)After performing an update, you can no longerreceive broadcasts.¾ Depending on the content of the update, some settings mayhave returned to the preset values.
