Fax313.5 Sending a fax usingone-touch dial feature andnavigator directoryBefore using this feature, store the desirednames and telephone numbers into one-touchdial feature and navigator directory (page 29).L Keep the front cover page open for buttonlocations.L Make sure that the {FAX} light is ON.1 Adjust the width of the document guides to fitthe actual size of the document.2 Insert the document (up to 50 pages) FACEUP into the feeder until a single beep isheard.L Confirm that there are no documentson the scanner glass.L If the document guides are not adjustedto fit the document, re-adjust them.3 If necessary, change to the desiredresolution (page 26) and the desired contrast(page 26).4 Enter the fax number.Using stations 1–9:Press the desired station key.Using stations 10–18:Press {LOWER}, then press the desiredstation key.Using navigator directory:Press {DIRECTORY}, then press {V} or {^}repeatedly to display the desired item.5 Press {START}.Note:L Do not open the document cover whensending a fax with the auto document feeder.To send a fax using the scanner glassL Confirm that there are no documents inthe auto document feeder.1. Open the document cover.2. Place the document FACE DOWN, thenclose the document cover.3.
