Whenthe video connection is completed,“Preparing” disappears from thedisplay and you can start talking with theother party.L For privacy, you can set privacy image(page 31) in advance. When a video callstarts, the unit sends the privacy imageto the other party instead of your livevideo.L If you subscribe to Call Waiting service,the call waiting signal may disrupt thevideo call. To keep the line quality stable,you may temporarily disable CallWaiting service before making a call.Please consult your service provider forthe code to disable this service.CompatibilityTo have a video call with the other party,the other party must also have acompatible Panasonic unit (KX-THA12/KX-THA16/KX-THA17) with the base unit(KX-TH102) or ITU-T H.324 compatibledevice. To maximize the performancecapabilities, we highly recommend thatboth you and the other party have acompatible Panasonic unit (KX-THA12/KX-THA16/KX-THA17) to have a videocall.L Depending on the compatibility of theother party’s video phone, both videoand voice call may be disconnectedeven if you press {VIDEO OFF} or{VIDEO} to switch to a voice call.Connection qualityThe quality of video calls depends on thequality of the connection between yourphone and the other party’s phone. Ifconnection quality degrades during avideo call and k or l turns red, theunit may change the call to a voice callautomatically and the video connectionmay end.Making a video call1 During a call, press {VIDEO ON} or{VIDEO} to start the video call.L Aim the camera lens toward yourselfby rotating the lens.L Your unit displays a view of yourselfuntil the video call is connected, thenit displays the live video of the otherparty.L Either caller can begin a video call bypressing {VIDEO ON} or {VIDEO}. Ifboth parties press {VIDEO ON} or{VIDEO} at the same time, the videocall connection may fail, returning youto voice call.2 To switch to a voice call, press {VIDEOOFF} or {VIDEO}.
