Advanced60VQT0V63• This mode is only suitable when takingpictures outdoors in the daytime.• If a part of the background etc. is a colorclose to skin color, this part is alsosmoothed.• This mode may not be effective whenthere is insufficient brightness.• ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO80].Press [ ] to display the [SCENE MODE]menu and select a scene mode. (P58)The camera focuses preferentially on adistant subject. This allows you to takepictures of a wide landscape.• Switch the AF/MF button to [AF].• The focus range is 5 m (16.4 feet) to ¶.• The flash setting is fixed to Forced OFF[ ].• The setting on the AF assist lamp isdisabled.Press [ ] to display the [SCENE MODE]menu and select a scene mode. (P58)This mode allows you to take pictures of afast moving subject e.g. when takingpictures of outdoor sports.• Switch the AF/MF button to [AF].∫ Technique for Sports mode• This mode is effective when takingpictures during the day in good weather.• This mode is suitable for taking picturesoutdoors in the daytime when you are 5 m(16.4 feet) or more away from the subject.Press [ ] to display the [SCENE MODE]menu and select a scene mode. (P58)This mode allows you to take pictures of asubject and a landscape with near real-lifebrightness by using the flash and slowingdown the shutter speed.∫ Technique for Night portrait mode• Use the flash.• Since the shutter speed becomes slower,we recommend using a tripod and theself-timer (P46) for taking pictures.• Keep the subject still for about 1 secondafter taking the picture.• We recommend rotating the zoom lever toWide (1k) and being about 1.5 m(4.92 feet) from the subject when taking apicture.• The focus range is 1.2 m (3.94 feet) to5 m (16.4 feet). (Refer to P44 for theavailable flash range to take pictures.)• Be sure to close the flash when not in use.• The shutter may remain closed (max.about 1 sec.) after taking the picturebecause of signal processing.
