Switching on/off the projectorENGLISH - 37 Basic OperationSwitching on the projectorTo use a projection lens that is an optional accessory,attach the lens before switching on the projector.( page 31)Remove the lens cover first.1) Connect the power plug to an outlet.(AC 220 V - 240 V 50 Hz/60 Hz)2) Press the side of the POWER> switch to turn on the power.▶z The power indicator will light in red, and the projector will enter thestandby mode.3) Press the POWER ON < > button.▶z The power indicator will light in green and the image will soon beprojected on the screen.Notez If the projector is switched on at about 0°C (32°F),a warm-up period of approximately five minutesmay be necessary until a projection is displayed.The temperature indicator is lit during thewarm-up period. When the warm-up is completed,the temperature indicator turns off and theprojection starts. Refer to “Managing the indicatedproblems” ( page 102) for the indicator status.z If the operating environment temperature is low andwarm-up takes more than 5 minutes, the projectorwill judge that a problem has occurred and thepower will automatically be set to stand-by. If thishappens, increase the operating environmenttemperature to 0°C (32°F) or higher, turn off themain power, and then turn on the power again.z If [PROJECTOR SETUP] → [STANDBY MODE]( page 68) is set to [ECO] on the menu, theremay be a 10 second display lag when the poweris turned on compared to when the setting is[NORMAL].z If the switch was turned during projection the last time that the direct poweroff function was used, and theswitch is turned while the main power plugconnected to the outlet, the power indicatorSTANDBY (R)> will light in green and the image willsoon be projected on the screen.Making adjustments andselectionsIt is recommended that images are projectedcontinuously for at least 30 minutes before the focusis adjusted.4) Press the button to adjustthe focus of the image roughly.( page 39)5) Set the projection method using[PROJECTION METHOD] ( page 66)and [COOLING CONDITION] ( page 67)on the menu.▶z Refer to “Navigating through the menu”( page 44) for the operation of the menu.6) Press the input selection (,, , , ) buttons to selectthe input signal. ( page 41)7) Adjust the front, back and sideway tiltof the projector with the adjustablefeet. ( page 29)8) Press the button to adjust theposition of the image.
