Close the top cover assembly and press firmly down to secure the latch.7.4.3 Adapting the Insert for Upwards EvaporationInstall the evaporation insert as described previously. To adapt the insert for upwardsevaporation:1. Remove the two terminal clamps and replace with the electrode extensions (seeFigure 7-8).2. Fit the stage assembly to the hole in the centre of the insert shield.3. Fit the wire basket or molybdedum boat to the electrode extensions as describedabove.4. If an FTM is fitted, you will need to reposition it as described below.5. Close the lid assembly on to the glass chamber assembly.6. Close the top cover assembly and press firmly down to secure the latch.7.4.3.1 Relocating the FTMIf you want to use an FTM with the metal evaporation insert adapted for upwardsevaporation you will need to reposition it as shown in Figure 7-8.1. Remove the glass chamber assembly.2. Unplug the FTM’s lead from the BNC socket and remove the existing crystalholder from its bracket.3. Remove the two screws near the inside diameter of the glass chamber holding theturbo shield in place and replace with two M3 x 20 hex spacers.4. Remove the existing crystal holder bracket.5. Fit the new crystal holder bracket using two M3x8 socket cap screws.6. Attach the FTM lead to the BNC connector.7. Attach the circular heat shield to the two hex spacers fitted previously with twoM3x6 socket cap screws having first fed the FTM lead through the hole provided.8. Pass the FTM lead through the hole in the crystal holder bracket and fix to thecrystal holder.9. Fit the crystal holder to the bracket with two M2.5 x 12 socket cap screws.10. Refit the glass chamber assembly.
