Chapter 6: The Display Pages 59Locked HeadingYou can access this page in two ways:• Press NAV from the Heading page.• Press ÚÚÚÚÚ and ÙÙÙÙÙ together from any page, except those where thiskey combination is used for a different purpose, as indicated on thedisplay. This method also locks the heading, if it is not already locked.If the heading is already locked, this access method does not affectthe value of the locked heading.D3064-1This display shows the locked heading and the boat heading, indegrees Magnetic or degrees True, depending on the choice made inthe Setup pages (see Chapter 4). It also shows a steering bargraph,which provides a graphical indication of the difference between the twoheadings.If the RayData is being used as part of a larger system, with an autopilotconnected to the SeaTalk bus, and the autopilot is in lock mode, then thedisplay will show PILOT HEADING instead of LOCKED HEADING, andthe locked heading value received from the Autopilot is displayed. Notethat the RayData locked heading does not have any effect on theautopilot.Locking and Unlocking the HeadingIf you have accessed this page via the Heading page, the heading maynot be locked. In this case, the locked heading display shows threedashes instead of a value, and the message at the bottom of the screeninstructs you to press ÚÚÚÚÚ and ÙÙÙÙÙ together to lock the heading.To unlock the heading, press ÚÚÚÚÚ and ÙÙÙÙÙ together again.
