If the data is normally availablefrom both SeaTalk and NMEA connections, and only the SeaTalk datais absent, then the NMEA data will be used after 30 seconds.If position data is lost, but speed and direction are still available, thenafter 30 seconds the RayData will calculate the position by deadreckoning, and indicate that this is the new data source.7.4 Self Test ModeSelf Test Mode provides a simple means of testing the lighting, LCDdisplay, keypad and transducer interface.To enter Self Test Mode:1. Press NAV and ÙÙÙÙÙ together to display the first Setup page.2. Press NAV and ÚÚÚÚÚ together.The RayData then displays the following:1. The software version number and serial number for five seconds.2. The detection status (Found or Not Found) of the Depth, Speed andTemperature transducers.3. A test pattern sequence.While the test pattern is displayed, the display and key lighting cyclesrepeatedly through all levels: off, low and high for the display, and lowand high for the keys. Three short beeps are generated if you press anykey during self-test.To exit self-test, press NAV and ÚÚÚÚÚ together. The first Setup page isdisplayed again. Press NAV and ÙÙÙÙÙ again to return to normal operation.7.5 Factory ResetThe system defaults can be changed using the Setup pages, asdescribed in Chapter 4. If you have problems with the setup changesyou have made, you can revert to the original default settings byperforming a factory reset.In addition to resetting the Setup values, the factory reset returns all thealarm settings to the defaults listed in Chapter 5, resets the log, andresets the lighting and contrast levels to their normal levels.To reset the system, press the ÙÙÙÙÙ, ÚÚÚÚÚ and NAV keys together. Thescreen is blanked, and “RESETTING IN 5” is displayed. This shows theseconds before the system resets, and the number counts down.
