INSTALLING CABINETSThis section describes how to install an OfficeServ 7400 cabinet on a table/desktop or in adata rack depending on the installation environment.2.1 SYSTEM INSTALLATION PROCEDUREInstallation Overview:1) Install the OfficeServ 7400 cabinet on a table or inside a data rack depending on theinstallation environment.2) Connect the ground to the ground lug behind the main cabinet.3) Put the MP40 board into slot 3 of the main cabinet. Install an LP40 in slot 0 of the maincabinet. If there are expansion cabinets, install an LP40 board into slot 0 of each expansioncabinet.4) Connect the link cables from each LP40 to the MP40. (Do not connect cables to LP40 inthe main cabinet).5) Install interface boards into universal slots.6) Connect an external battery with proper capacity if required.7) Connect AC 110V input power.2.2 SELECTING INSTALLATION METHODThe OfficeServ 7400 cabinet can be installed on a table or inside a 19-inch rack.2.3 INSTALLING IN A RACK2.3.1 Cautions for InstallationObserve the following precautions when installing the OfficeServ 7400 cabinet inside a rack: The 19-inch rack should be a standard equipment rack. When using an enclosed-type rack, check if the rack is properly ventilated. Vents should beequipped on the side of the rack and fans should be attached to ventilate cool air into therack. Take special caution when using an enclosed-type rack that has vents on top of the racksince hot air coming out of the vent may enter the intake vent of a system installed abovethe rack. When using an open rack, do not block the OfficeServ 7400 vents or fans.
