Recharge thebattery.The audio quality of the call is poor• Check the signal strength indicator on the display( ); the number of bars indicates the signalstrength from strong ( ) to weak ( ).• Try moving the phone slightly or moving closer toa window if you are in a building.No number is dialled when you recall aPhonebook entry• Check that the number has been stored correctly,by using the Phonebook Search feature.• Re-store them, if necessary.If the above guidelines do not help you to solvethe problem, take note of:• the model and serial numbers of your phone• your warranty details• a clear description of the problemThen contact your local dealer or Samsungafter-sales service.143Access CodesThere are several access codes that are used byyour phone and its SIM card. These codes help youprotect the phone against unauthorised use.Some access codes can be changed using theSecurity menu (Menu 4.4). See page 93 forfurther details.Phone PasswordThe Phone lock feature (see page 94) uses thephone password to protect your phone againstunauthorised use.The phone password is supplied with the phone andis preset to “00000000” at the factory. To changethe password, use the Change password menu(Menu 4.4.4). See page 95.PINThe PIN (Personal Identification Number) protectsyour SIM card against unauthorised use. It isusually supplied with the SIM card. When the PINCheck feature is enabled (see page 93), you mustenter the PIN each time you switch on the phone.If you key in an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, key in the PUK and press the Ok softkey to unlock the phone. Key in a new PIN andpress the Ok soft key. Key in the new PIN again andpress the Ok soft key.
