58Maintenance and CleaningTurn off the projector, and unplug the AC power cordfrom the AC outlet.Turn the projector over and remove the air filters bypulling the latches upward.1Filter prevents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector. Should the air filters becomeclogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans’ effectiveness and may result in internal heat buildup andadversely affect the life of the projector. If a “Filter warning” icon appears on the screen, clean the air filtersimmediately. Clean the air filters by following the steps below.Gently clean the air filters by using a brush or rinse itsoftly.When rinsing the air filters, dry it well. Replace the airfilters properly. Make sure that the air filters are fullyinserted to the projector.CAUTIONDo not operate the projector with the air filtersremoved. Dust may accumulate on the opticalelements degrading picture quality.Do not put anything into the air vents. When the symptoms above are noticed,contact your authorized dealer or service station for propercleaning.Note:• When reinserting this air filters, be surethat the slit part is facing the outer side.Be sure to reset the Filter counter after cleaning or replacing the filters.Press the MENU button to display the On-ScreenMenu. Use the Point ◄► buttons to move the redframe pointer to the Setting Menu icon.Use the Point ▲▼ buttons to move the red framepointer to Filter counter and then press the SELECTbutton. A dialog box appears showing the totalaccumulated time of the filter use, a timer settingoption, and the reset option. Select Reset and the“Filter counter Reset?” appears.
