Connect the Service Kit physically to the base station subrack. (For a remoteconnection, this should already be in place: see TN-742 Remotely Monitoringand Configuring the Tait TB8100.) For a direct connection, follow thesesteps:a. Connect one end of the supplied cable to the control panel serial port.This cable is an ordinary (straight through) RS 232 cable and is availableseparately (order code TBA0P10).b. Connect the other end to a serial port on your computer. The serial portto use is the one specified when the direct connection was set up andconfigured.2. Click Connect. The Connecting dialog box appears.3. In the Connect to box, select a named connection from the drop-downlist. If no suitable connection exists, click Edit Connection or NewConnection to edit an existing connection or create a new one.
