Device control is carried out throughthe MIDI IN/OUT port. The USB port cannot be used forthis purpose.Selection of external devices for transport control is doneon the REMOTE/MACHINE CTRL screen. For details, pleasesee “Selecting devices for transport control” on page 93 ofthe DM-3200 Owner’s Manual. Theall-call ID number, 127 in the MMC protocol, is not usedby the DM-3200.ª MIDI controlExternal MIDI devices can now be operated from aDM-3200, using MIDI Control Change messages andMIDI Program Change messages using the MIDI controller,MIDI fader, and MIDI Mixer screens.ConnectionConnect the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports of a DM-3200and the MIDI device bi-directionally. You may also usethese controllers as “send only” as well by just connectingthe MIDI OUT port of the DM-3200 to the MIDI device.Setting devices for MIDI controlSetting of the MIDI control setup is carried out on theREMOTE>EXT.CTRL screen.Selecting devices for MIDI control•The EXTERNAL CONTROL LIST on the left of the screen isinitially blank. To add external devices from the list use thefollowing procedure:1 Turn the POD 4 knob or the JOG/DATA dial tochoose an item from the device list (SUPPORTEDDEVICES). In the case of MIDI control, highlighteither MIDI Ctrlrs, MIDI FADERS, or MIDI Mixer.2 When the device to be controlled by the DM-3200 ishighlighted on the list, move the cursor to the ADDbutton, and press the ENTER key. A pop-up screenprovides information regarding the selected item.
