2 – Basic operational concepts : “Fat channel”28 TASCAM DM-4800 User’s ManualEQ controlsPress the SCREEN key to bring up the EQ screen forthe currently-selected module.Turn the EQ on and off for the module using the ONkey.Gain and frequency for the four EQ bands areadjusted with the top row of four encoders (GAIN)and bottom row (FREQ).To set the type of filter for a band, press and hold theCTRL key to the left of the unit, and turn the appro-priate encoder in the top row (TYPE).If the width of a filter (Q) can be set (depending onthe filter type), you can do this by pressing and hold-ing the CTRL key and turning the appropriateencoder in the bottom row (Q).Aux send levelsPress the SCREEN key to bring up the aux/bussscreen for the currently-selected module.Use the appropriate control to adjust the Aux sendlevel for the selected module.If two aux sends have been linked, the odd-numberedcontroller acts as a pan control, panning the sendbetween the two aux sends, and the even-numberedcontroller acts as a level control.Pan controlThe PAN control to the right of the Aux send controlsmay be used as a pan/balance control for a selectedmodule or pair of linked modules.In surround modes, it controls the L/R balance of thesurround matrix.Figure 2.21: Equalization controlsFigure 2.22: Aux send controls
