(See “Setting the file name format”on page 42.)CAUTIONThe date and time setting can only be maintainedfor a few minutes when the unit is not powered bybatteries or an AC adapter. When using batteries, werecommend that you replace or recharge them beforethey completely lose power.Using the built-in speakerSet the SPEAKER switch to ON to listen to a playingtrack through the built-in speaker.NOTEEven when ON, no sound is output during recording,in recording standby or when headphones areconnected.Connecting monitors andheadphonesTo listen with headphones, connect them to theconnector.To listen with an external monitoring system(powered speakers or an audio system), connect itto the LINE OUT connector.HeadphonesPowered speakersor audio system
