It willstop recording when it reaches the dropout point, or if none is enabled, whenyou hit the STOP button.Cubasis will now create a display of thetrack(s) you’ve just recorded. This cantake a few seconds to a few minutes,depending on how long the recordedtracks are and how many there are.You’ll then see the tracks appear in yourarrange window.7.3 OverdubbingTo overdub more tracks, simply selectand enable additional tracks as you didthe previous ones, and repeat theprocedure. You can monitor the tracksyou’ve already recorded via the US-428’s outputs, while recordingadditional tracks into Cubasis via theUS-428’s inputs. Be sure to assigneach track to its own channel in theprogram’s internal mixer. For moreinformation on Cubasis’ mixerfunctions, including groups and outputassigns, please refer to the Cubasismanual.When overdubbing, you can also selectthe INPUT MONITOR mode by pressingthe INPUT MONITOR button on theUS-428. When the corresponding LEDis illuminated, channel strips 1,2,3 and 4can be used to adjust the level, pan andmute status of inputs A, B, C and D,respectively. This will enable the firstfour faders as Input level monitors,allowing you to hear the inputs at thesource, in sync with the previouslyrecorded tracks.7.4 MixdownYou can control the mix of the channelsyou’ve recorded via the US-428. Makecertain you’ve got the correct bankselected - the small on-screen windowthat indicates “VST Mixer 1-8”, or “GMMixer 1-8” or “GM Mixer 9-16” is yourbest indication of the currently selectedbank. The LEDs next to the BANKbuttons on the US-428 also indicate theselected bank: VST Mixer = only GM Mixer 1-8 = and GM Mixer 9-16 = only.You can change the level of a track byadjusting its corresponding fader on theUS-428 control surface. To adjust otherparameters on a particular channel, firstpress the SELECT key for that channelon the US-428. The selected channelwill be highlighted below that channel’sfader on the screen.Moving the channel fader on the US-428will adjust the relative volume of theselected channel in Cubasis. Thecorresponding fader on screen willupdate as you move the US-428’s fader.The PAN control on the US-428 will panthe selected channel from Left to Righton the stereo buss. To open the EQpanel, select the desired channel andthen press ASGN and select any of thefour bands of EQ on the US-428’s EQpod. The EQ’s level, center frequencyand Q can then be controlled via theUS-428’s EQ knobs.To select a channel’s FX sends, selectthe desired channel and then pressASGN and select any of the four AUXbuttons. The level of the Aux send iscontrolled via the DATA WHEEL.
