Page 36 FTDX9000D OPERATION MANUALANTConnect your main antenna(s) here, using a type-M (PL-259) plug and coaxial feedline for each. These antennaports are always used for transmission, and also are usedfor reception unless a separate receive antenna is alsoused for the main receiver. The internal antenna tuneraffects only the antenna(s) connected here, and onlyduring transmission. These connectors utilize TeflonRinsulation for extreme durability and to ensure stableimpedance over the entire frequency range.RX OUTThese BNC jacks provide output of the receiver sig-nal lines from the Antenna jacks which are connectedto the Main (VFO-A) and sub (VFO-B) front ends.Main Power SwitchThis is main power On (I)/Off (O) switch of the FT DX9000. Always turn this switch on before turning on thefront panel’s POWER button. If this switch is not turned On, the front panel Powerswitch will not function.Turning this Main Power switch On supplies voltageto the OCXO (Crystal Oven), ensuring that frequencystability is always maintained even when the trans-ceiver is turned off via the front panel's Power switch.AC INConnect the supplied 3-wire AC line cord to thissocket. AC voltages of 100-240 V may be accommo-dated by the FT DX 9000D without any sort of modi-fication (universal voltage input).CIRCUIT BREAKER SwitchThis circuit breaker shuts off in the event of danger-ously high current consumption by the transceiver.AdviceIf the Circuit Breaker interrupts power, by all meanstry to determine the cause of the over-current condi-tion before re-applying power. To restore the CircuitBreaker after verifying that all is normal, push thisswitch in until you hear a “click.”MICThis 8-pin jack accepts input from a microphone uti-lizing a traditional YAESU HF-transceiver pinout.REMOTEBy plugging in the supplied FH-2 Remote Control Key-pad to this gold-plated jack, direct access to the FT DX9000 CPU is provided for control functions such as con-test memory keying, plus frequency and function con-trol. This jack may also be also used for remote controlof the VL-1000 Linear Amplifier, if used.RX ANTThis type-M jack is for a separate receive-only an-tenna. An antenna connected here can be used, by boththe main (VFO-A) and sub (VFO-B) receivers, whenthe RX ANT button on the front panel is pressed. If you want to use some special kind of externalbandpass filter or preamplifier, you may connect itbetween the RX OUT and RX ANT jacks, as shownin the illustration.REAR P ANELANTENNA SWITCH(VFO-A)ANT “1”ANT “3”ANT “2”ANT “4”RX ANTRX OUT(MAIN)RX OUT(SUB)ANTENNA SWITCH(VFO-B)RX ANTENNA SWITCH(VFO-B)RX ANTENNA SWITCH(VFO-A)TX/RX RELAY Transmitter SectionMain (VFO-A) ReceiverSub (VFO-B) ReceiverBPF
