Do not mount an out-board motor with more horsepowerthan the maximum rating on the capaci-ty plate of the boat. If the boat does nothave a capacity plate, consult the boatmanufacturer. Improper mounting of the outboard mo-tor could result in hazardous conditions,such as poor handling, loss of control,or fire hazards. If you are not able tomount the outboard motor properly,consult a Yamaha dealer.EMU42941Mounting the outboard motorF2.5AWARNINGEWM01721Your dealer or other person experiencedin proper outboard motor mountingshould show you how to mount your out-board motor.The outboard motor should be mounted sothat the boat is well balanced. Otherwise, theboat could be hard to steer. For single-engineboats, mount the outboard motor on the cen-terline (keel line) of the boat.F4B, F5A, F6CWARNINGEWM02301Do not hold the top cowling or tiller handlewhen mounting or dismounting the out-board motor. Otherwise, the outboard mo-tor could fall.1. Be sure to mount the outboard motorwhile the boat is on land. If the boat is onthe water, move it to an area on land.2.
