Administrator‘s Guide for Yealink VC110 Video Conferencing Endpoint72In addition to manual configuration, the endpoint also supports automatic VLANdiscovery via LLDP or DHCP. The assignment takes effect in the following order:assignment via LLDP, manual configuration, then assignment via DHCP.For more information on VLAN, refer toVLAN Feature on Yealink IP Phones.LLDP (Linker Layer Discovery Protocol) is a vendor-neutral Link Layer protocol, whichallows the endpoint to receive and/or transmit device-related information from/todirectly connected devices on the network that are also using the protocol, and storethe information about other devices. LLDP transmits information as packets called LLDPData Units (LLDPDUs). An LLDPDU consists of a set of Type-Length-Value (TLV) elements, each of which contains a particular type of information about the device or porttransmitting it.LLDP-MED (Media Endpoint Discovery)LLDP-MED is published by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). It is anextension to LLDP that operates between endpoint devices and network connectivitydevices. LLDP-MED provides the following capabilities for the endpoint: Capabilities Discovery -- allows LLDP-MED endpoint to determine the capabilitiesthat the connected switch supports and has enabled. Network Policy -- provides voice VLAN configuration to notify the endpoint whichVLAN to use and QoS-related configuration for voice data. It provides a ―plug andplay‖ network environment. Power Management -- provides information related to how the endpoint ispowered, power priority, and how much power the endpoint needs. Inventory Management -- provides a means to effectively manage the endpointand its attributes, such as model number, serial number and software revision.TLVs supported by the endpoint are summarized in the following table:TLV Type TLV Name DescriptionMandatory TLVsChassis ID The network address of the endpoint.Port ID The MAC address of the endpoint.Time To LiveSeconds until data unit expires. The default value is 180s.End of LLDPDU Marks end of LLDPDU.Optional TLVs System NameName assigned to the endpoint. The default value is ―VC110‖.
