Configuring IP for the Remote Site Connection 4-7Configuring IP forthe Remote SiteConnectionTo set up connections over the WAN, a remote site profile must becreated and edited for each remote location you want to connect to.With this profile, you specify ATM virtual circuit information, protocols,and addresses that determine the method of connection andcommunication to that remote site.You first need to add a remote site profile, then modify the profile toinclude WAN connection and network information. The following listsummarizes the necessary information: Frame Relay/ATM WAN — Network Service (PPP/RFC 1483/ RFC1490) information, ATM VC information IP — IP addresses, address translation tables, static routes, RIP usage IPX — IPX network address information, static routes and services, RIPusage Bridging — Enable or disable bridging to the remote siteIf you need to connect to multiple remote sites (i.e., the Internet and aremote office) you should set up a remote site profile for each location.Configuring IPParameters for theRemote SiteThe following steps illustrate how you configure the IP parameters of theremote site profile.These instructions assume you have already added a remote site profile.
