CHAPTER 4Sensor Type Configuration171Figure 177. Sensor Type ConfigurationSensor TablesFor sensors that either do not provide ouput voltages dependinglinearly on the measured variable, or that provide output voltageswhich must be converted into discrete output values, you have todefine appropriate tables for conversion/linearization. Each sensoroutput voltage value becomes an input value of the table; a con-version table may contain from 2 to 256 input values and also from2 to 256 output values. Of course, the numbers of input and out-put values must match, each table input and its correspondingoutput value specifying a data point on the conversion diagram. For example, the leaf wetness sensor outputs avoltage (which has a certain non-linearity), butthe leaf wetness value is expressed in discretevalues of 1 to 10 .SFU. units.
