UTILITY STITCHES92Bar TacksUse bar tacks to reinforce areas that will be subject tostrain, such as pocket corners.a Select .b Attach buttonhole foot “A” and set the scale to thelength of the bar tack you wish to sew.Position the upper thread under the presser foot byguiding thread through the hole in the presser footbefore attaching the buttonhole foot “A”.c Set the fabric so that the pocket moves toward youduring sewing.d Check the first needle drop point and lower the presserfoot.e Lower the buttonhole lever so that it is positionedbehind the metal bracket on the buttonhole foot.f Gently press the end of the upper thread and startsewing.
