NOOK User Guide Wireless Connectivity 62To manually add and connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot:To manually add a Wi-Fi hotspot, you must be within range of the hotspot. Your NOOKconnects to the hotspot when you add it. If it fails to connect, it does not add the hotspot.You will need the following information:• Network SSID (Service Set Identifier, that is, the network name for the hotspot)• Security (Auto, None, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)• Password: A code needed when connecting to a secured hotspotTap wi-fi > Wi-Fi hotspot > Other hotspot.... In the data-entry form, type the SSID, select thesecurity, and then tap Submit. If a password is needed, your NOOK prompts for it. Enter thepassword and then tap Submit.To disconnect from and forget a Wi-Fi hotspot:Tap wi-fi > Wi-Fi hotspot. Tap the hotspot, and then tap Forget. This does two things. Itdisconnects your NOOK from the hotspot, and it removes it from the list of networks to whichyour NOOK connects automatically.B&N Fast & Free WirelessThis section applies to the NOOK (Wi-Fi + 3G model) only.Your NOOK (Wi-Fi + 3G model) can connect to B&N Fast & Free Wireless networks in the UnitedStates (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
